Haier logo One of Haier America’s goals is to make recycling electronics an easier process for residents of New York and many other states. A major appliance brand, Haier employs more than 80,000 people around the world and sells its products in more than 100 countries and regions. For more than two years, residents and businesses in New York have had the opportunity to recycle used Haier electronics for free. The program also accepts electronics from other manufacturers with the purchase of a similar Haier brand product. The following electronic devices can be recycled:
  • VCRs, DVD players and DVRs
  • Cable receivers, digital converter boxes and video game consoles
  • PDAs, portable digital music players, personal e-devices
  • Televisions
New York residents can recycle their electronics by choosing from a couple of different options. Haier works with MRM, a company that provides convenient recycling opportunities to manufacturers and consumers. Residents can deliver electronics to one of MRM’s electronic collection sites. Search here for an electronic collection site near you.
New York residents, along with residents of Hawaii, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, North Carolina, South Carolina and West Virginia, can also send their electronics through Haier’s mail-back program. Search here to learn more about MRM’s mail-back program. After receiving electronics, MRM shreds, sorts and separates equipment into its original components, which can later be recycled into new products.
