A machine designed to remove carbon dioxide from the air. Air polluted with carbon dioxide is pumped into the CO2 scrubber wherein an ion exchange resin attracts carbon dioxide molecules. After this, the carbon-free air is released out of the scrubber. Large-scale CO2 scrubbers are still in early stages of development, but many environmentalists question the usefulness of this technology. They believe the technology only resolves short term problems and disregards the need to further develop alternative energy sources.
