Downtown Portland’s South Park Blocks serve as an ever-green entryway to the beautiful Portland State University campus. If it were possible to get any greener, PSU’s “front lawn” will do so on Earth Day, hosting its sixth annual PSU Earth Day Festival. The event, which takes place on Earth Day — Monday, April 22, 2013 — from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., will occupy the South Park Blocks outside of Smith Memorial Student Union building.
The event showcases Portland’s obsession with keeping it local. Stop by to learn more about some of Oregon’s Mother Nature-approved nonprofits, plus view local art and enjoy samples from regional food vendors. Tech demonstrations, local music and even henna tattooing also promise to be on hand, and attendees can even take home free plants. How green is that?
Attendance is free. In the spirit of Earth Day, do the green thing and travel to PSU by train, bus or bicycle. The Union building is located at 1825 SW Broadway in downtown Portland.
