Earth-Day-San-Jose.jpg Earth Day is approaching once again, and San Jose, CA, is one of the many cities that will be taking part in the festivities. Along with smaller events scheduled around the area, the headliner event takes place at San Jose State University. SJSU’s Environmental Resource Center, in conjunction with SJSU Associated Students and Spartan Shops, will hold the event on Tuesday, April 22 at Tower Lawn (near San Fernando and 4th streets) and Campus Village Courtyard (near San Salvador and 10th streets). Multiple events will be taking place during the day. Earlier in the day, there will be a petting zoo, a sustainable carnival and an Earth Day San Jose vendor fair. Later on, there will be speakers and workshops to educate attendees about sustainability. To end the day, there will be an Earth Day finale that includes the Associated Students Annual Trashion Fashion Show, the Greenest Greek Award Ceremony and the reggae band, Just Chill. Food will also be available throughout the day for purchase. SJSU is still accepting registration for the vendor fair here. Those who are interested in volunteering at SJSU’s Earth Day event can email the Environmental Resource Center Director, Magen Shaw, at magen.ercsjsu@gmail.com with your name, times available to volunteer and contact information.
