Miami Children's MuseumAmerica Recycles Day is on its way, and Miami Children’s Museum is already preparing for the special date. On November 15, MCM will welcome Italian artist Gloria Porcella to help spread the word on the importance of recycling. Porcella, a Roman who has devoted her life to art, studied at San Diego State University and served as Councilor for the City of Rome, where she was responsible for the Cultural Commission. As Head of the Culture Center in Rome, Porcella worked closely with Italy’s Environmental Minister. Porcella now leads the Galleria Ca’ d’Oro, one of Rome’s best-known contemporary art galleries (which, perhaps no so coincidentally has a second location in Miami‘s Arts District). At this event, MiChiMu, the MCM mascot, will welcome all visitors. Guests even have the chance to meet Porcella and view her newest contribution to the museum. MCM is also encouraging visitors of all ages to stick around and create their own works of art by using provided recycled and recovered materials. MCM hopes to show visitors new recycling methods that can help contribute to a healthier, cleaner environment. For additional information, visit the Miami Children’s Museum website.
